C&G NVQ 2356

Electrotechnical Services & Systems

City & Guilds NVQ 2356-99 Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services – Experienced Worker

If you’re a working electrician with more than five years experience then the NVQ 2356 may well be the best route to your Level 3 Electrical.

Also known as the “Mature Candidate Assessment”, this qualification is designed solely for experienced persons who have worked in the electrotechnical industry as a practicing electrician for a minimum of 5 years.

You will need to demonstrate your technical knowledge, practical skills and competence to the industry standards at Level 3 in any one of the occupations of this qualification – and in line with the current edition of the IET wiring regulations (BS7671).

This assessment route is not available for: new entrants to the Electrotechnical industry; apprentices; or those who require any training.

Relevant industry experience gained whilst training can be acceptable but will need to be verified as meeting the qualification requirements.

Candidates with experience and qualifications from overseas may well be eligible, but must first apply for and acquire a UK NARIC Statement of Comparability.

If your current experience does not make you eligible for the NVQ 2356 assessment route to gaining your NVQ 3 Electrical qualification, then either the Level 3 NVQ Diplomas in Electrotechnical Technology  (NVQ 2357), or the Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship Qualification (Installation or Maintenance) (NVQ 5357) should hopefully provide the right path for you.
